Wild Hogs – Like most states in the American South, wild hogs are a serious problem in Florida and the state’s population of around 500,000 can be found in all 67 counties. While they are not commonly sighted at Walt Disney World, in November 2024 FOX 35 Orlando reported that hogs were causing damage in an Orlando neighborhood and as far back as April 1990 a herd of 30 wild hogs caused a traffic jam near Disney World.
Given their presence throughout the state, wild hogs should be considered present at Walt Disney World and should be avoided at all costs, they are destructive and can be unpredictable and aggressive.
If you are really interested in seeing wild hogs at Disney World, go to Animal Kingdom and ride Kilimanjaro Safaris and to see the Warthogs (PUMBAA) and visit with the Babirusas in the Oasis Exhibits near the park’s entrance or go to the Kidani Village Resort to visit the Red River Hogs in their enclosure.
